It’s been a month since I last wrote to you... lol. But for real, things are wild, and I am always asking myself why I thought running a homestead, working full time, raising kids, keeping up a hobby farm, oh, and baking for a full farmstand was the right idea.
In all honesty, I love it, and I do thrive in chaos. As an extremely Type B individual, I am and always will be a “let’s just go with it, what’s the worst that can happen?” kind of person. Doesn’t always pay off, and many times I have paid an unfortunate price. BUUTTTT, you know what does come from it? Tons of experience, adventures, learning, and lots of good!
Anyways, we have transitioned into full fall, and it’s the best season to ever exist! This is where I think the stand can really shine.
My biggest lesson in the last few months is that the stand will only be successful, and by successful I mean enjoyable, if I stay true to myself in what I offer. There are so many great stands in Greenville and the surrounding areas, and I don’t want to be like them. I want to be like me. Stay in my lane, make what I actually enjoy making, and thrive there.
I LOVEEE sourdough, and you bet I’ll be buying it from other stands. But I don’t love making it, so I’m not gonna force what isn’t there.
Bringing a bit of my magic to the stand is also on the agenda, and I’ve already started with my Week of Wishes. There are so many more things I’m ready to dive into, both there and on the website. Exploring my spiritual side, and not being afraid to express that, is another fun treat I’m allowing myself.
In other major news, I hosted a girls’ spooky movie night on the homestead, and it was a total success! What started as a funny TikTok that I thought nobody would see ended up with tons of girls around the area saying they wanted to join.
I hosted the first one with a projector, snacks, and a bonfire, and it was a blast. Waaayyy out of my comfort zone, but another step toward finding my place, finding my people, and stepping into this next journey!
There are a lot of other things behind the scenes that aren’t so great. Different stresses, etc. But what I focus on will grow, so I’m choosing to dig into the good!
